Why Hedsor House is a gift for a photographer
Hedsor House is a private Italianate house at Taplow in Buckinghamshire. It was built in 1868 and sits in around 100 acres of parkland. You hire the whole house and gardens, and that matters for your photographs: no strangers in the background, and nobody hurrying you along. The drive is about a kilometre long, so the house comes into view slowly. From the air you can see how it sits in the park, with the formal gardens to one side and open country beyond. You may have seen the house before. It has appeared in The Crown, Downton Abbey and Killing Eve.
The best photographs happen at Hedsor House
The Centre Hall
This is the ceremony room. A balcony runs round the hall above your guests, so I can photograph the whole room from overhead and still be back on the ground for the kiss. The light falls from above and it is kind to everyone.
The front steps
The stone columns frame a couple beautifully, and the steps are made for a relaxed photo with your wedding party.
The ballroom
Wood panelling and chandeliers. At its best when you make an entrance and the whole room's on its feet.
The park at sunset
On a clear evening the sun drops behind the trees beside the house. Ten minutes out there gives you warm, glowing portraits with the house behind you.
After dark
The lawns at night suit sparklers, a champagne spray, or one last quiet photograph together.
How I work
My main aim is real emotion, not a long list of poses. I have been praised for being discreet and for not getting in the way of the day. If you would like a few portraits for the wall, I give gentle direction and keep it quick. Fully candid, or with some creative direction: it is your choice. I normally cover the day from the final touches of getting ready until an hour after the first dance. If we can, it is great to meet beforehand and agree a couple of go-to poses. I like a natural look to my colour, and I love a vintage black and white.

Film. Anastassia and I make story-driven wedding films: a short film to share soon after the day, and a longer film for the family.
Hybrid. I shoot both photo and film myself. Hybrid wedding photography and film suits smaller weddings held in one place, and at Hedsor House the whole day can happen at the house.
I am also a licensed drone pilot. Hedsor House allows drones when the pilot's licence is on file with them, so when the weather allows, you can have the house and park from the air.

Where is Hedsor House?
Hedsor House is at Hedsor Park, Taplow, Buckinghamshire, SL6 0HX. It is close to the Berkshire border, about six miles north of Maidenhead.
Is confetti allowed at Hedsor House?
No. The venue does not allow confetti. Bubbles and sparklers are allowed, and both photograph well. Check the current rules with the venue when you plan your day.
Can we have drone photos at Hedsor House?
Yes. The venue allows drones when the pilot's licence is on file with them. I hold a drone licence, and I fly when the weather allows.
What happens if it rains?
Rain does not spoil the pictures here. The Centre Hall and the ballroom both photograph well, and the front entrance gives cover for portraits and group photos.
Do you cover weddings in Buckinghamshire?
Yes. Dream Team is based in Berkshire and also covers Buckinghamshire, Surrey and London. Hedsor House is a short drive for us.
